Protesting against the ghastly attacks on Gaza, Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) took out a rally at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on 29 December. Students and youths responded in large numbers despite a very short notice on nearly a spontaneous decision. Shouting slogans displaying placards like "wanted Ehud Olmert for war crimes!", "why is UN silent?", "Israel is an apartheid state" etc. Students have expressed their solidarity with the aggrieved Palestinians and their anguish for the oppressor.
Sharing the festivities of Eid-ul-Azha (Eid of sacrifice) together with different faith leaders and prominent persons, an Eid together was organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind today at Constitution Club in New Delhi.
