13th volume of Islamic Encyclopaedia launched by IPH (Kerala)

October 13, 2019

12 Oct, Thiruvananthapuram: The 13th volume of Islamic Encyclopaedia published by Islamic Publishing House (IPH) was formally released at an impressive program in the Ayyankali Hall. Speaking on the occasion, eminent filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan said that; “Terrorism in India began with the killing of Gandhi. He was a practicing Hindu and promoted communal harmony. He was shot dead by a Hindu extremist who was enraged by Gandhi’s affable approach to other religions. As we celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi, we witness the sad spectacle of the celebration of his murderer as a patriot. Those emulating the killing of Gandhi are elected to parliament by huge margins. Those indulging in terrorism in the name of Islam do not have anything to do with Islam. I suggest that every library in the state should have a copy of Islamic Encyclopaedia, as it will help remove misunderstandings about Islam.”

Social observer P.J. Vincent received a copy of the book. IPH director Koottil Mohammed Ali presided over the program and Executive Editor of Islamic Encyclopaedia, Dr. A. A. Haleem introduced the book to the gathering. Director of Kerala Language Institute V Karthikayan Nair, Palayam Imam V.P. Shuhaib Maulavi, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, District President S Ameen and IPH Assistant Director K.T. Hussain spoke on the occasion. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, City President A Ansari welcomed the gathering and organizing committee General Convener A.S. Noorudheen delivered the vote of thanks.
