Amir-e-Jamaat-flags-off-Mobile-Book-VanNew Delhi, 1st December: “The task before us is to communicate to the world that Islam is ordained by Allah, the Almighty. Once this message is properly understood it would resolve most of the problems we are facing. As Islam, the way of life (deen), is from Allah there is no scope of any error or mistake making its way, or any possibility of any addition or deletion. Human efforts, on the other hand, are beset with imperfections and the features of universality are not possible in any man-made-endeavour”, said Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami while inaugurating the Mobile Book Van of Delhi and Haryana Halqua of the Jamaat.

Amir-e-Jamaat-flags-off-Mobile-Book-Van2Maulana Omari further said that many people assert that they do not need divine guidance because all of their problems including social, economic, political or familial, can be resolved without this. Even if this claim is true the moot question is about the problem of facing the life after. Man has to be face to face with his Creator and account for whatever he did in this life. Where is the guidance other than this divine source to enable man to tackle that situation effectively? Islam resolves that issue and shows the way. Maulana Omari talked at length about characteristic features of Islam and urged to spread the message. Even in this world man needs peace of mind which is not possible despite amassing wealth and other material possessions. That solace and succor is possible only in obedience of Allah, as told by the Qur’an. The Qur’an, besides addressing the human needs both in this world and hereafter, appeals to the intellect and urges men to apply their mental faculties to arrive at the truth.

The learned speaker further stressed the need of adopting peaceful means for propagating thoughts. “We believe in propagation of thoughts and this is possible only in a peaceful atmosphere; besides this is the essence of the teachings of Allah and His Apostle (peace and blessings of Allah be to him).”

The Delhi and Haryana Zone of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has arranged the Mobile Book Van that will move in different localities with books on Islam in Hindi and English languages.

The inaugural programme, held on 30th November in Dawat Nagar, New Delhi was attended by about two hundred people. Welcome address was delivered by Abdul Waheed, Amir Halqua of Delhi and Haryana Zone and introductory remarks came from Pawaz Rahmani, Editor Dawat Sehroza who is also in-Charge of this and other Dawah projects of the Halqua.

The programme was effectively conducted by Mansoor Ahmad who also announced the inaugural of a new website in English language road2islam.in in addition to the already existing site in Hindi language islamdharma.org.

Abdul Waheed in his welcome address said that propagation of Islamic teachings is a responsibility of Muslims and the whole community should participate in this work. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has been doing this work since a long time but that is not sufficient as the task is gigantic. Besides being our religious duty this will eradicate misgivings and that would lead to better communal relationships. The mischief-mongers succeed in disturbing the atmosphere only because of prevalent wrong and distorted notions. Muslims failed in providing correct information about their religion and beliefs which eased the task of evil-doers, who despite being in minority, succeed in their bad designs.

Parwaz Rahmani talked about the activities of the Jamaat in this field including that of arranging translations of the holy Qur’an in 16 major Indian languages and making available literatures on Islam in them. In addition to providing books the Jamaat has been adopting other means of communication like postal libraries and electronic media. The arrangement of the Mobile Book Van is in line with similar activities, he said.
