To counter western invasion, we’ll have to spread message of Islam Amir-e Jamaat

Azamgarh, 17 April 2014: The purpose of establishing Madrasas in India is to protect Deen. We are grateful to Allah that madrasas have always fulfilled this purpose. The present form of Islam in India is due to these madrasas, said Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari, Amir (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. He was speaking at the All India Conference of Madrasa Students organized by Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) on 11 April at Jamiatul Falah in Azamgarh.

“But given the western invasion, members of the Millat and country, particularly Ulema will have to propagate the message of Islam while following the Quran and Prophet Muhammad so that ulterior designs of west could be countered. We will have to promote Islam as a complete code of life to eliminate vices from the society,” said Maulana Omari while presiding over a symposium entitled “Genesis of Establishment of Madrasas”. The symposium was part of the conference.

Others who spoke at the symposium included Maulana Alauddin Nadwi (Nadwatul Ulema, Lucknow), Maulana Asad Azmi (Jamia Salafia, Varanasi), Maulana Waliullah Sayeedi Falahi (state president, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, UP West) and Dr. Ayaz Ahmed Islahi (Lucknow University).

On the occasion, Maulana Omari also launched special issue Islamic Madrasas: Problems and Possibilities of the Urdu language organ of SIO Rafeeq-e- Manzil monthly.

Earlier speaking at the conference, national president of SIO Ashfaq Ahmed said the Muslim Millat is passing through a bad phase of its history. Madrasa students will have to play the same role that is written with golden words in the history.
