JIH, West Bengal: Award for Academic Excellence programme in Malda

Malda, WB, 13th November, 2011: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, WB, in collaboration with Human Welfare Foundation & PM Foundation, Kerala, hosted The STUDENTS FACILITATION PROGRAMME at Sanaullah Manch, Malda, WB, on 13th November, 2011. The Programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. with the recitation and translation of the Holy Quran by Br. Abdul Wadud, Ex-Zonal Secretary of SIO, West Bengal. Br. Masud Alam, Regional Coordinator of HWF, West Bengal gave the welcome speech. He was grateful to the present guests, press and, above all, the students.

Mr. Abdur Rafique, Ex-GS, SIO of India and present General Secretary JIH, WB, presented a brief introduction of Human Welfare Foundation. He also mentioned the fields of activities of the Foundation. He said in his address that the foundation focuses mainly on health and education. Mr. Abdur Rafique called the students to make their present better for a bright future.

Mr. Arif Falahi, Administrator, HWF, told about the activities of the Foundation. He said that the Foundation works mainly in the backward areas regarding health, education and employment. He called the audience to learn more about the Foundation from its website, booklet, etc. Mr. Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury, Councellor English Bazar Municipality & MLA, WB, told about some steps taken by the earlier distinguished personalities for the betterment of the minority communities specially, the Muslim. He said that he was very regretful when he came to know from Sachhar Committee report about the deplorable condition of the Muslim community. Mr. Choudhury left the programme after giving awards to the first 10 students. Mr. Nuruddin, President, JIH, WB encouraged the students to learn more and become wise.

Mr. S. A. Raihan, Member of CAC gave an introduction of SIO. Professor Saifuddin Ahmed told about the real aims and objectives of education. Smt. Minoti Dutta Mishra, Head Mistress Ahladini Girls High School, Malda told the students to be more diligent. Dr. M. Rahman delivered his message to encourage the students for a bright future. Mr. Rafeek Ahmed, Retd. Addl. Asst. Director of Income Tax Department, and Treasurer, HWF, criticized the modern education where the learners become materialistic. He also said that we are the servants of the Almighty Allah and therefore, we must serve human being. He asked the students to read the holy Quran. Almost 100 meritorious students were distributed academic excellence awards with certificates. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks of Br. Md. Zahir Abbas, Programme Coordinator.

    Masha-Allah, its really great to muslim in W.Bengal doing great work. I am not from India, I am from bangladesh and live in UK. I feel proud when see our brothers are doing well to train and inspire our Ummah to make them Global leaser.
