Ameer-e-Jamaat announces completion of Rehabilitation Project of 2018 Kerala Floods

13 June, Wayanad: The President of Jamaat-e- Islami Hind, Syed Sadatullah Hussaini announced the completion of the rehabilitation project for those affected in the 2018 floods in Kerala. The project was completed by People’s Foundation, an NGO under the aegis of Jamaat-e-Islami Kerala. Congratulating the organisers and the beneficiaries alike, he emphasised on the need for coordinated efforts to overcome crises like the one arose due to COVID 19.

“People’s Village”, a township of 25 homes for the families affected by the 2018 Kerala Floods, which was also a part of the project was handed over to the beneficiaries by T Arif Ali, Secretary-General, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. A modest function was organised in Panamaram, here on Saturday by following the relevant COVID 19 protocols.

The rehabilitation project worth 25 crores includes the construction of 305 new houses, completion of 888 houses, means of livelihood to 811 families, 34 drinking water projects, 3100 health cards, 5 people’s villages and 75 other projects. The project was announced in 2018 and completed in 2 years
