New Delhi, 17 May 2015: Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has strongly condemned the death sentence awarded by a so-called Egyptian court to country’s ousted President Dr Mohammad Morsi and 105 other leaders and members of Ikhwanul Muslimoon (Muslim Brotherhood). While terming the judgment as the worst case of trampling of justice, Maulana Umari has urged all peace-loving people of the world, United Nations, leaders of the governments and human rights organizations to protest against and stop this brazen oppression and open terrorism. Egypt’s first democratically and legally elected President Dr Morsi was illegally sacked from power by the army chief Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi.

Ameer-e Jamaat has also demanded the ruling group of Egypt to keep off anti-Islam attitude, desist from murdering the justice and democracy, revoke all false cases against the members of Ikhwan including Dr Morsi, Dr Abdul Badie, Allama Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, release all the arrested people and annul death sentences against them.

Maulana Umari said that the tyrannical rulers of Egypt have put Jamia Al-Azhar to a big test by seeking its approval for Morsi’s death sentence. All justice-loving people of the world, therefore, hope that Jamia Al-Azhar while maintaining its bright history would not endorse the sentences of Ikhwan leaders and by paving the way for their release and would keep alive the Islamic teaching and record of justice.
