Pune, Maharashtra: The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Syed Sadatullah Husaini addressed the JIH cadre of Pune yesterday (29 July 2019) at the Kondhwa Unit Office. The JIH President while elaborating on the Policy Program that Jamaat has crafted for 2019-23, said that: “Jamaat will build public opinion in favor of Islam and its teachings. It is a very important responsibility that the Muslim Ummah must discharge. So far and especially in the recent past, public opinion about Islam has changed for the worse in contrast to the positive Islamic awareness found among Muslims. One of the main reasons for this trend is that the Muslim community has been slow in discharging its responsibility of “Dawat-e-Deen” (spreading the message of Islam) as its awareness about this responsibility is quite low.”

Ameer-e-Jamaat said that: ”Our Policy Program has laid special emphasis on Indian society. When we think about our problems and challenges, we should not think only about Muslims but also about all our countrymen. We must consider them to be our brothers and try to win their hearts and minds. This will be possible only through a massive outreach program. The root cause of mob lynching, Islamophobia etc. root is the same. The short term solution for this is in the form of pressure politics like agitations, rallies, police complaints etc but the long term permanent solution  to these issues lies in improving and increasing the “Dawat-e-Deen.” People should acquire knowledge about Islam through the right sources and through our behavior and interaction. They should not be swayed through TV channels that are carrying out anti-Islamic propaganda. Earlier it was a responsibility but now it is a question of our survival. Another important thing is that the whole Muslim community has to be involved in this task. Jamaat should lead the community but for that Jamaat must also improve its own efficiency and effectiveness as an organization. We must mingle with the people and strengthen our relationship with the Ummah. We must note that the debate around Islam revolves mainly around topics such as jihad, the Prophet (pbuh) and the status of women in our community.”

The JIH President advised the cadre to strengthen Jamaat by inducting more youth and students and giving due place to women and girls. The program was conducted by Manzoor Khan (Ameer-e-Maqami – Kondhwa Unit – Pune) and welcome address was given by Azhar Ali Warsi (Nazim-e-Shehar – Pune)
