Jammat-e-Islami Hind, Assam started Relief and Rehabilitation work in Assam soon after the ethnic and communal riot affected the BTAD area in north-east state. In July 2012 communal violence took place in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa districts of newly created Bodoland Territorial Council, where as many as four lakhs of people were victimised, out of whom 80% are Muslims.
The Jamaat has started Relief work dividing the area in three centres and the following persons have been given responsibility for different centres and Md. Shams Ahmed supervises all the three centres and Central Relief Office is based in Beltoli (Bilashipara), Dhubri District of Assam.
1) Bilashi Para Sub-Division and Dhubri District – Haris Ali , In-charge of 30 Camps.
2) Chirang and Baksa District – Saiful Islam Falahi , In-charge of 19 Camps.
3) Gushaigaon and Tamarhat Area – Sofiur Rahman , In-charge of 21 Camps.

Total number Camps in three centres in which relief items are distributed is 160.
1) Four Marriages conducted in two Relief Camps where 40 thousand Rupees spent.
2) 200 volunteers give their full time services in 42 camps and they are rendering services in Education, Security, Medical Aid, Health and Hygiene, Material Distribution.
3) One delegation comprising 5 members namely 1) Tula Sanjay of Vishvagram; 2) Mr. Omar Bhohra of JIH Gujarat; 3) Miss Momta Chauhan, Education Inspector; 3) Shalish Bhat; and 4) Miss Sevika, a Boro Lady; and 5) Mohammed Shafi Madni, visited both the Muslim and Boro community camps and sits together with ABSU and ABMSU leaders and tried to bring normalcy among both the communities.
This delegation also met with socio-political leaders and national and state bureaucrats.
4) 200 headscarves given to 200 women; 300 shalwar Qamiz provided for affected girl students.
5) 12 students of class 5th to 8th standard given admission to different schools.
6) 30 students admitted to Class 11th standard.
7) 14 students admitted to Graduation Courses.
8) 15 students admitted to Qaumi Madrasa.
9) Counselling, Motivation, Legal work and survey is going on.
Major Project which is going on:
1. 5o Houses have been identified and are going to be built. Rupees 50,000.00 will be spent on each of them.
Future Plan:
1. We are Planning to Construct 1000 Houses in the Affected Area.
2. We are Planning to Repair 2,500 Houses.
3. We are Planning to Arrange Qurbani in 150 camps; about 750 Animals in need for this Project (The costing of One Hissa Qurbani is Rupees 1,500.00)
4. Anti Tobacco Campaign will be organised between 7th Oct. to 15th October 2012 in all the relief camps.
- Al-hamdulillah about Rupees 200 lakh spent on all these activities.
