While expressing grief over the incident, Mohammad Salim Engineer, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind said that atrocities have been unleashed against Christian minority, dalits and weaker sections and Muslims in certain states in a way as if there is no rule of law there and terrorists are so emboldened that they attack and kill people at their will and thus mock the law and judiciary, and the government does not seem taking effective legal action against them or it is doing so deliberately. Salim Engineer further said that this situation is problematic for the victims, harmful for the country and will tarnish the image of the country in the world.

Jamaat’s Secretary General demanded the central government to issue strong instructions to state governments to end atrocities and injustice against minorities and other weaker sections and take strong action against and prosecute the individuals or groups that are destroying peace and tranquillity in the country.

He further said that justice demands and it is also the responsibility of the government to give proper compensation to the victims of terrorism and communal violence and the government must execute its duty.
