Introduction to Islam Campaign

Jamaat e Islami Hind, Uttarpradesh and Uttarakhand Zone had conducted ‘Introduction to Islam campaign’. There were three major objectives of this campaign:
1) To  introduce Islam before the non Muslim brethren
2) To remove the misunderstanding of the non Muslim brethren about Islam
3) To remind Muslim Ummah their role as a Da’yee.
Alhamdulillah all the three objectives were covered and despite flaws in the administration, shortage of resources and the unfavorable weather, as a whole the campaign was successful.


For the attainment of these objectives, Individual meets, collective gatherings, public meetings, seminars and symposiums, Friday sermon, interaction with Ulama and other religious personalities, talks with journalists and the editors, press conferences and lectures in colleges etc programmes were designed on various levels.. The enthusiasm among the companions was worth seeing other than the determined programmes of the zone like rallies in Meerut, women’s public meet were also being conducted.

Owing to in view of the objectives of the campaign written material was provided, 2, 00000 handbills and 30,000 folders were distributed for arising the Muslim Ummah, and to remind them their place as a preacher (da’yi),   200 sets of three books (Islam Kaise Phaila, Tahreek e Islami aur Brotharan e Watan, Dawati Kamon ke liye Khutootkar) were prepared for Ulama and distributed them in printed bags.  2000 Friday sermons were published for the Imams of Masjids. A book in Hindi language for the distribution among the non Muslim brethren was published, 500 sets of 6 books for the non Muslim religious leaders, scholars and for the editors were published. Hoardings were displayed at Ghaziabad, Sambhalsarai.  Local channels were used for the publicity in Rai Bareli, Saharanpur, Muradabad, the glimpses of the programme was shown in the major cities.


The news related with campaign was covered appropriately by all the major newspapers of the state, like this the message of the campaign was conveyed to the lakhs of the people, the introduction of the campaign was also presented on the website of Jamaat e Islami Hind, emails and SMS were sent.

In certain places the campaign was started on 12th February, a press conference was organized at Glawthi and Farrukhabad on 12th February, on 13th February the campaign started with a press conference in the State office of JIH, UP. But with a crowded press conference of Ameer e Jamaat Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri in Rai Bareli the actual begging of the campaign took place.  In this conference 26 news reporters and the camera men from various channels were present, Ameer e Jamaat placed the details related with Islam, answered  the questions and on the same day night a symposium was organized under the presidentship of Ameer e Jamaat in which 400 women and 600 men were present. Every day the chain of press conferences was continued, particularly the press conferences of Rampur, Pelibhit, Bijnor, Rurki, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapore, Aligarh, Agra etc. were successful.

During the campaign the services of Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, President JIH, Ejaz Ahmed Aslam Secretary JIH, Secretary Dawah Mohd.Iqbal Mulla, Intizar Naim assistant secretary Milli Issues, Rafique Ahmed assistant secretary Public Relation, Abdul Salam Islahi from Tarbi’ah section were sought. While from UP zone Maulana Mohd. Naseem Ghazi Falahi, Hindi Translator of Qur’an Maulana Mohd. Farooque Khan, Zainul Abeddin Mansoori Secretary Dawah Delhi Zone addressed the important programmes in Meerut, from UP East Waliullah Saidi Falahi President JIH, UP East Zone, Janab Mohd. Naim Nazim e Ilaqa(Divisional President) JIH, Lucknow, Maulana Ubaid ur Rahman Azhar Member State advisory council JIH, UP East, have given their precious time. while from UP, West Mohammad Ahmed State President, Ateequ ur Rahman Member advisory council JIH, UP West zone, Dr. Nazimuddin ex Divisional President, JIH, Meerut and Dr. Jameel ur Rahman Manwi Saharanpur have made speeches during the entire campaign in various symposiums and programmes. Besides this, divisional presidents and District presidents played active role in the entire campaign.

All the companions of Jamaat lend their hands at every stage, despite his tight schedule of college Dr. Farhat Hussain‘s compilation of a book in a very short time is commendable.

The Zone got the guidance especially from the central Dawah section, Mohd. Iqbal Mulla not only guided but also provided some books on this occasion, Mohd. Naseem Ghazi Falahi provided dawah sets from Madhur Sandesh Sangam. May Allah accept the efforts of all of us.
