New Delhi – On the 10th of January 2016, the HRD department of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organized a ‘’IT Professionals and Social Media Activists Workshop’’ along with the Delhi & Haryana Zone of JIH at the Media Hall of Markaz JIH.  It was attended by over a hundred participants and a core committee of 5 members was formed thereafter.

The main objectives of the program were to (1) Understand the importance of technological communication, IT and Social Media (2) Understand the scope of IT and Social Media in the modern context for Islam, Muslims and the Islamic Movement (3) Devise an effective plan for utilization of IT and Social Media tools, issues, policies and programs (4) Networking of participants (5) Formation of Core Advisory Group for IT and Social Media Advocacy (6) Formulate a road map in IT and Social Media for Jamaat.

IT expert from Capgemini Australia Mohsin Faseeh and Social Media developer Ziya ul Islam addressed the audience. Vice President JIH- Syed Sadatullah Hussaini gave the inaugural words while the presidential address was given by Qayyim e Jamaat –Muhammad Salim Engineer. The program was coordinated by HRD Director I. Karimullah.
