Jamaat-e-Islami Hind condemns savage killings in Assam

Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of the Jamaat, in a statement released from Hyderabad said that if effective actions had been taken against the people responsible for the last year atrocities against lakhs of Muslims, had they been punished as per laws and true efforts made to establish peace in the state, the killing of tribal people at such large scale would not have taken place.

The Jamaat leader urged the government to ensure justice in order to maintain peace and tranquillity in the state and resolve the genuine grievances, if any, of different groups. He also called upon those groups and individuals resorting to violence that violence and terrorism will only increase the problems. So, they should also review their attitude and resort to dialogue ad peaceful means. They should not commit sin by killing others as it will destroy peace in their life also.

Jamaat Secretary General expressed sympathy with the families of the victim tribals and urged the government to help the victim families and ensure them justice.
