Kerala state minister for cooperation C.N. Balakrishnan, in a function held in Thrissur, distributed the education scholarships for this year, from the “Baithuzakatha fund” which is an annual collection under Jamaat-e-Islami Hind ,Kerala State. 304 Students from different religious background will get the benefit of this scholarship. A sum total of Rupees 30 lakhs were distributed in this cause. The beneficiaries are selected students from Degree, P.G., Diploma, M. Phil, Ph. D, Professional courses and short term vocational courses. A scholarship of Rupees 15 Lakhs will be distributed in the next phase exclusively for the students who wish to join civil service and other competitive exams.
Assistant Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Kerala State M.K. Muhammadali presided over the function. Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA delivered the key note address and later on he distributed the scholarships for professional courses. M.P. Vincent MLA, Mayor I.P. Paul and District Panchayath President K.V. Dasan respectively distributed scholarships for Management, Diploma and short term vocational courses. Thiruvambadi Devswom Board President Prof. M. Madhavan Kutty and SIO State General Secretary also spoke in the function.
