Jamaat expresses grief at flood devastation in Kashmir

Jamaat's initiative for peace, communal harmony in Vadodara applauded

New Delhi, 08 Sep 2014: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed deep sorrow at the loss of human lives and properties caused by the most devastating flood in last 60 years in Jammu and Kashmir and showed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Mr. Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, while terming the situation in Kashmir extremely serious – as around three thousand villages have got affected, more than 150 people have been killed and flood water has entered Srinagar also – he said that people of Kashmir today deserve sympathies and urgent help from the government and people of the country. There is also a need for public support and good planning for rescue and relief.

Jamaat leader said that along with relief work at large scale, the state and central governments should also find out if imbalanced development programs of the governments and inappropriate or wrong planning are responsible for the worst flood in Kashmir. If found true, then planning should be made to save the people of Kashmir from such disasters in future and action should be immediately started to execute the plan.

Secretary General of the Jamaat expressed solidarity and sympathy with the flood affected people and prayed for those who lost their lives in the flood. He called upon brothers and sisters of Kashmir to seek forgiveness and help of Allah.

    May Allah help all the kashmiri brothers and sisters.No doubt it is a natural disaster bt, to be a human being it is our duty to realize sorrow and give ahand of help to the suffered people….

    It is our humanitarian duty to assist the affected people by making huge donations. JIH should guide its cadre spread over the country to make collection. Hope the markaz has established service centers as is its tradition. If no such things are planned the message may be conveyed to its cadre
