Concerned at the increasing water shortage in many states and at the risk of drought looming large in many areas, JIH Shoba Dawat decided to launch an awareness campaign to “Save Water” in Delhi & Haryana on 8th May 2016. The launching program was conducted in the busy Central Market of Lajpat Nagar in which volunteers of Jamaat spread out in large numbers with Handill & banners in their hand to request the people to save water.
The volunteers spread out in 7 groups with each group comprising of 5 to 6 volunteers. Two of them displayed a banner dipicting the message from Prophet Mohammad(saw) “Do not waste water even if you are at a running Stream” while the others distributed handbills and a glass of fresh water to attract attention.
A handbill was especially prepared for this campaign highlighting the importance of Water by quoting ayahs from the Quran & the sayings of the Prophet. The message was printed both in English & Hindi so as to reach to all sections of the society.
During the almost 3 hours awareness campaign huge number of people were attracted towards the message. The people took the glass of water with thanks & appreciated the unique method of raising awareness.
This campaign will now spread to the whole og Delhi & Haryana with banners to be raised at prominent places & handbills to be distributed all over the halqa.
