Reformation of the individual is critical for the formation of a pious society – Ameer e Jamaat

21 February – Maulana Syed Jaluddin Umari the Ameer (Chief) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind inaugurated a 7 day training program ‘’Markazi Tarbiyatgah’’ at the Jamaat headquarters in New Delhi. In his inaugural words Maulana Umari reiterated that the reformation of the individual is critical for the formation of a pious society. He said that: ‘’the Quranic concept of Tarbiyat (Training) and Tazkiya (Purification) is very comprehensive. One aspect of Tarbiyat is reformation and purification in worship and in the domain of society and politics. The other aspect is related to it’s application and putting that idea of reformation into practice. Both these aspects are important for those engaged in the Islamic movement. Viewed from a superficial level the process of Tarbiyat appears to be addressed to the individual. But if we reflect deeper we can understand that this process of reformation of the individual leads to the establishment of a pious and just group of people. If these pious individuals come together then a pious society is formed which will lead to the establishment of a state that is founded on noble values and principles.

Earlier the program began with Dars e Quran by Maulana Farooque Khan. The ‘’Markazi Tarbiyatgah’’ has been organized by the Department of Training (Shoba e Tarbiyat) in which more than 60 delegates who are various  office-bearers of JIH are participating from all over India.  The details of the program and its need and importance were conveyed by the coordinator of the program Maulana Waliullah Saeedi Falahi – Secretary Tarbiyat JIH.
