Resolutions Adopted at the Special Session of Central Advisory Council of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind

October 26, 2013

New Delhi, October 24: The three-day Special Session of the Central Advisory Council (Markazi Majlise Shoora) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind concluded here on Sunday.

After thorough deliberations over national and international issues, some important decisions were taken and the following resolutions were also adopted.

1- Basic Issues Confronting the Common People in India

The election fever has taken the country into its grip. Assembly elections are going to be held in five states in November-December this year and a few months later, General Elections will be held.

The Central Advisory Council (CAC) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind feels that political parties are not giving attention to the serious issues and problems being faced by the country. The CAC is of the view that the top serious issues facing the country include widening floodgate of corruption, inflation, growing influence of western imperialism, moral degradation and cultural invasion of the West, communal tension and new wave of communal riots, spread of fascism, regional chauvinism, and growing trends of casteism and racism.

The minorities of the country, deprived sections of the society and the half population of the country i.e. women are feeling insecure. The new generation is hopeless about its future and seeking solace in entertainment activities, drugs, wine and sexual depravation. On one hand, baseless allegations of terrorism, illegal arrest of youths and excessive use of powers by police and intelligence agencies have severely disturbed the Muslim community, their real issues, on the other hand, are being ignored by the governments and political parties. Despite stringent laws and tall claims of the governments, attacks on the modesty of women have continued unabated.

The CAC wants to register its strong feelings that rather than highlighting the real issues, holding serious debates, apprising the governments and political parties of their responsibilities and auditing their performance, the national media, just for raising their TRP ratings and business interests, are promoting sensational, emotional and entertainment journalism. The CAC thinks that the media of a large democratic country like India should do responsible journalism and invest their energy and resources in highlighting the real issues of the masses and building public opinion for them, and apprising the political parties and ruling alliances of their responsibilities.

The CAC demands the Central and state governments to give attention to the real and basic issues of the masses and particularly resolve the issues and problems of the weaker and deprived sections and minorities. The ruling parties should immediately fulfil the promises they made in their election manifestos. The central government should pass the laws to check communal violence and remove encroachments on waqf properties and accept the recommendations of Ranganath Mishra Commission in the coming session of Parliament. The central government should honestly implement all the recommendations of Sachar Committee.

The CAC of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind appeals to the people of the country to thwart the attempts of communal forces who are trying to polarize voters through spreading communal tension. They should maintain peace at every cost and save the country from communal tension and caste conflicts. The CAC also appeals to the people to assess the political parties and governments over the problems and real issues of the people. They should support those candidates and parties who can end atrocities and exploitation, injustice and deprivation of rights, who can establish peace in the country and have ability and will to resolve the real issues of the common men. People should support those who have more concerns for the interest of the poor than that of capitalist class and multinational companies. The people of the country must reject communal and fascist parties.

 2. Situation in the Muslim World

The Central Advisory Council of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind strongly condemns the conspiracies of global forces for the Muslim world, lethargic attitude of some Muslim rulers and the atrocities on the innocent pro-Islam masses.

The murder of democracy in Egypt and unleashing of atrocities on the people fighting for democracy and democratic rights is a shameful act for the entire civilized world. The Morsi government was democratically elected and majority of the people had posed confidence in him for five times. In a short span of time, the Morsi government had taken commendable steps for the development of the country and for promotion of real democracy in Egypt. But the anti-Islam forces, in order to protect their interests and that of Israel, used the armed forces and state machinery and brutally suppressed the first experiment of democracy in the Arab world.

The CAC expresses its grave concern and surprise that the countries who claim to be champions of democracy have maintained criminal silence on the massacre of democracy and innocent people in Egypt.

The CAC demands the Government of India to play an important role for the protection of democracy and human rights in Egypt. India has played a key role in restoration of democracy in Myanmar and South Africa. The CAC demands the Government to play the same role in restoring democracy in Egypt – the largest country of Arab World – and use its good offices to impress upon other democratic nations to support the cause.

This Session of CAC strongly condemns the shameful attitude of some Muslim and Arab countries towards the situation in Egypt. It is shameful and painful that Muslim rulers, just for the sake of their petty interests, have collaborated with anti-Islam forces and are annihilating the pro-Islam forces and for this sinful act using their resources gifted to them by Almighty Allah.

The CAC commends the peaceful struggle of Ikhwanul Muslimoon (Muslim Brotherhood), their sacrifices and courage, and prays to Allah to make their efforts successful and award the martyrs high status in Paradise.

The CAC strongly condemns the atrocities and brutalities by the Syrian government on their innocent citizens. The anti-Islam mindset of Bashar Al-Asad and his family is an open fact. These rulers have killed thousands of Islamic leaders, Ulema and intellectuals and massacred their own people just because their association with Islam and Islamic Movement. The CAC feels that the time has now come that the Pharaoh of Syria is sacked and prosecuted for crimes against humanity. For this purpose, Arab League, OIC and Islamic and Arab countries should come forward.

It has now become clear that America and world powers have no interest in establishing democracy in Syria and freeing its people from the clutches of brutal dictator. Their only agenda is to disarm Syria and make it a puppet for the world powers, strengthen their hegemony in the region and protect the interests of Israel. The world powers should not be allowed to interfere in this regional dispute. This should be resolved through dialogues and by Arab and other Muslim countries.

The Session of CAC also feels that it is necessary to hold elections in other arabcountries, establish stable democracy there and strengthen the democratically elected governments. Efforts for strengthening the democratic institutions and ending the intervention of army and undemocratic centres of power in the affairs of a democratic government should be supported.

The CAC strongly condemns the reopening of the legally resolved old cases against opposition leaders in Bangladesh and misuse of laws and gross violation of human rights by the present regime. There is no doubt that the ruling party is enacting the drama of war crimes tribunals just to suppress the opposition. All the democratic nations of the world should oppose this barbarism. The CAC appeals to Muslim nations, democratic countries of the world, Government of India and international organizations of human rights to use its influences and impress upon the Bangladesh government to end this atrocity.

The CAC appeals to the Muslim World generally and Muslims in India particularly to hold the rope of Allah firmly in this serious situation and bring unity among their ranks. The world powers are busy in breaking the Muslim Ummah in different sects and groups on the basis of Shia-Sunni conflicts, nationalities, ideologies and views. It is our responsibility to overcome all the differences and show unity in the interest of Islam and humanity. We should adopt sympathy, sacrifice and broadmindedness with each other.

The CAC appeals to Muslims, particularly Muslim youth to get ready to spread the teachings of Islam and truth through their character and all available resources.
