Volunteer Training Camp

JIH TN & Pondicherry Zone conducted a two day Volunteer Training Camp for Social Service on Oct 16th and 17th 2010, near Chennai during its Social Service Week from Oct 10 to 17, 2010 in which nearly 105 persons participated. The Camp focussed on the importance of social service in Islam besides training the volunteers in First Aid, Fire Fighting, Ghusl for the dead, Kafan& dafan, RTI and its application, Schemes and assistance from Central and State Social Welfare boards.

Faculty from the following institutions trained the Volunteers.

1. St. John’s Ambulance
2. Fire Safety & Helath Society.
3. 5th Pillar
4. Central and State Social Welfare Board.
5. Ideal Relief Wing  ( IRW )
6. Islamic Scholars.


The Camp was organised in a a very serene atmosphere with lush green trees around the site. The volunteers stayed in tents portraying a typical camp life and environment.

The Vision 2016 Banner was prominently projected behind the Speakers.

Most of the classes were practical in nature with lot of interaction between the trainers and the volunteers.

The most important feature of this camp was the enrollment of 75 volunteers who  filled up Volunteers Form committing themselves for any social service activity at local, state and national level at times of need and requirement.
