Women Protection against CAA becomes a storm

Palakkad: The Women Forum convened a protection rally and public meeting on the issue of Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) under the banner “We are all one for the nation.” The program called “She Storm“ was a mass gathering of women from different sectors regardless of caste, religion and organizational affiliation. Thousands of women from different age groups attended the rally which started from Puthuppally Street. The Alathoor MP Ramya Haridas inaugurated the public meeting at Stadium ground. In her address, she emphasized that the citizenship of India is our absolute right and we will continue to live in our nation. We are ready to provide brave women to fight for the integrity and unity of our nation.

 

The meeting was attended by former Women’ Commission member Prof. Thulasi, the State Women’s Congress Secretary Mrs. Soya Joseph, JIH State President C V Jameela, Women’s League District Secretary Mrs. Shamla Showkath, Pempulai Orumai leader Gomathi, Women Justice Movement State Vice President Subaida Kakkodi, MSF National Vice President Adv. Fathima Thahliya, All India Women Cultural Form State Secretary K M Beevi, OISKA South India President Dr. Parvathy Varyar, Fraternity State Vice President Najma Raihan and GIO State Secretary Shameema.

 

The second edition of “CAA – A manifesto to Peoples resistance”, the book published by IPH was also released at the event. Mrs. Sameem Sulaiman, who had secured a Doctorate from Hyderabad IFLU Central University, was also honored at the function. Women Forum Convener Rahna Vahab gave the welcome speech while the meeting was presided by Safiya Ashraf, Women Forum Chairperson. General Convener Sakeena Banu gave the vote of thanks
