Kochi: Over 2,000 candidates will contest in the impending election into Local Administrative Bodies under the banner of People’s Development Front, said Hameed Vanimel, State Political Secretary of Jamaat-E-Islami, Kerala. He was talking in a function held to inaugurate State wise activities of a People’s Unity Front in Kochi. The front was twisted by a few cultural and literary activists with an aim to break out unwanted presence of political parties in Local Administrative Bodies.
Several regional People’s Committees are formed at many parts of the State. Ninety percent of these committees are connected with Panchayaths. It is high time to act for the growth of people, and to cease to be surrendered to the governments’ falsities. For that end, non-corrupted and people-attached candidates should come up, Mr. Hameed said.
Pressured by people’s votes, there should be an awakening among handlers of Local Administrative Bodies. In last election, four candidates posted by JIH easily managed to win the seats. When the performance of those members is analyzed, it is found that they have been doing better for people’s development for last five years, Hameed said |
