Religion is not only restricted to prayers.

January 18, 2011

Our country is very diverse. People follow different religions here. More than 22 languages are spoken here. After the independence, we have achieved tremendous progress in various fields. But in some fields we lag way behind. If we have a glance at our contemporary politicians, they are devoid of attributes such as such as Truth, honesty, commitment. No party is an exception in this case. National interest and people’s interest does not bother them, instead they are busy in incrementing their bank balance, forcefully acquiring poor people’s land and giving it to foreign company has become a habit of politicians. Corruption is on the rise. Corruption is now not considered as an evil. Social evils are on the rise. Immorality, violence, and injustice in different forms are now experienced by us was said by Jamaate-islami-hind state secretary Yusuf kanni badami . he was here in udupi to deliver a talk organized by jamaate–islami–hind udupi.

According to a recent survey done by a English newspaper that more than 65% of students didn’t feel consuming alcohol was an evil. Such instances prove that evils are on the rise in the younger generation. The social bonds and the family bonds are getting weaker. In such a situation what is our responsibility? What should we do? As explained by the glorious Quran as the “balanced community” what should be our responsibility? Were the questions posed by the speaker to the audience.

Similar evils were the present in the Arabian region. Prophet Mohammed with the slogan of LA ILAHA ILLALLAH changed the life of the people. He understood the problems of common men. He becomes a hope for the depressed and orphans. He united the hearts of people, and he helped them irrespective of their religion and caste. This should be the work of a Muslim. Helping the needy people and shedding off their tears should be our objective.

Jamaate-islami-hind from its initial days is performing this objective and encouraging people to do such activities. From primary knowledge about god and his commandments to economic recession, and its solution as Islamic banking was introduced at national level and today is the matter of prime discussion. Community should be united and all the citizens should develop brotherhood among themselves on this concern j.i.h has been working from day one was said by the speaker. Moulana Abdussalam spoke inaugural words.  He said religion is not only restricted to prayers but understanding it and passing it on to the others is the need of the hour. Glorious Quran’s few verses were recited by Ameer ustad. Anwar ali kaou conducted the programme and in the presented the vote of thanks.
