Mr. Mujtaba Farooq, Chairman of JIH Markazi Taleemi Board

 

Mr. Mujtaba Farooq was born on 6th June, 1959 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Mr. Farooq is associated with the social service sector, especially in the education field for more than three decades. He is a voracious reader, an eloquent speaker and a writer, having keen interest in social issues and community development. Many articles, news reviews have been published in newspapers on social, political and educational issues. He is associated with several NGOs and societies. Many educational institutions and schools are running under his guidance. He is well-versed in Urdu, Hindi and Marathi. He is media friendly and talks on different social issues, especially related to the minority community. He always strives for the cause of human rights, humanity and social justice.

Presently, Mr. Farooq is heading the JIH Markazi Taleemi Board as its Chairman and is also a member of the highest decision making body of JIH, Central Advisory Council. Earlier, he served as the JIH National Secretary from 2003 till 2011 and as the State President of JIH Maharashtra from 1996 to 2003.

He is the Director at JanSeva Cooperative Credit Society Ltd and founder Director of Aurangabad based Mass Vision Info Media Pvt. Ltd. which is currently publishing a state level Urdu newspaper Roznama Asia Express.

He is an executive member of New Delhi based well-known NGO, Human Welfare Foundation and the Convener of Co-Ordination Committee of Indian Muslims (CCIM), New Delhi.

He is serving as the Founder Secretary of New Delhi based Federation of Muslim Educational Institutions (FMEI). He is the Chairman of Aurangabad based Amiable Charitable Trust, which runs Scholars’ Group of Institutions. He is the President of Vidya Abhiyan Shikshan Sanstha, Aurangabad. He is an organizing secretary of Joint Committee of Muslim Organisations of India (JCMOI), New Delhi. He is also an Executive Member of the famous Islamic seminary Jamiat-ul-Falah, Azamgarh, UP. Recently he also became the Chairman of Niswan College, Aligadh, UP. He is the President of Al-Hira Educational and Welfare Society Khuldabad, which runs Al-Irfan Residential School, Al Irfan NEET & JEE Academy and Iqra D.Ed College. He is the Director of Excelasia Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Aurangabad and Mujtaba Infrastructures, Aurangabad.

Mr. Farooq has rendered valuable services for a number of education trusts, societies and NGOs in different capacities. He served as the chairman of Aurangabad based Al-Hira Educational and Welfare Society during 1994-2006. He was the Chairman of Falah-e-Aam Trust, Maharashtra from 1992 to 2008 and Secretary of New Delhi based DAWAT Trust from 2008 to 2010. He has also served as the Secretary General of the prominent umbrella body of Muslim organisations – All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), New Delhi.

Mr. Farooq was the first National President of the Political party, Welfare Party of India (WPI) and served from 2011 to 2014.

He has participated in several national conferences and visited various countries like Turkey, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, and Bangladesh.
