Jamaat Delegation led by Vice President Visits Families of Lynching Victims in Mewat

 

 

Delhi, 31 May 2019: A high-level delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), led by Vice President Mohammad Salim Engineer, visited the families of lynching victims in Mewat, Haryana on Thursday.

 

The delegation first visited the family of Akbar Khan in Kolgaon area of Mewat. Khan was lynched by gang of self-styled cow vigilantes in Alwar district of Rajasthan in July 2018 and is survived by wife and children. The Jamaat leaders also visited Aslam who was with Akbar but had fled the spot when the goons attacked and saved his own life.

 

 

Jamaat delegation, which included Nusrat Ali and Nadeem Khan, also visited Rafiq and Azmat in Jaisinghpur. They were brutally assaulted along with Pahlu Khan by a mob of self-styled cow vigilantes in Alwar district in April 2017. Khan, 55, succumbed to the injuries but two young men survived.

 

The delegation also visited the family of Azeem, a young madrasa student who died in a scuffle in Malviya Nagar of Delhi last year.

 

The Jamaat leaders expressed their solidarity and support with the victim families and presented them with Eid gifts.
