JIH President urges Muslims to make special efforts to attain piety, spiritual elevation during Ramadan

April 13, 2021

New Delhi, April 13: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) President has extended greetings to the Muslims marking the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a message on this occasion, JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husani has urged the Muslims to make special efforts for attaining piety, closeness to Allah and spiritual elevation during this fasting month. He said, “it is the month of the holy Qur’an. It is the month of training and making special efforts to attain piety and closeness to Allah. The real purpose of this month is to make it a source of positive and good change in our lives. The Qur’an should be read with deep understanding and the willpower gained from fasting should be utilized for making concrete changes in ourselves, complying with the teachings of the Qur’an. This month is once again coming in the midst of the COVID-19 ordeal. The lesson for us during this situation is that we must turn to God, repent of our sins and pay attention to our responsibilities and duties. The purpose of this situation on the occasion of Ramadan seems to be that we turn our full attention to the Lord of the Universe. Instead of merely celebrating a festival, utilize this blessed month for its real purpose which is the attainment of piety and spiritual elevation. This is a month of compassion. At this time it is our first duty to play significant role in eradicating this epidemic and shun any behaviour which may help it to spread. Share the pain and suffering of the ailing persons, poor and victims and offer your cooperation in resolving and overcoming their problems.”

JIH President has prayed that may Almighty Allah make this Ramadan a source of such a good change in our individual as well as collective life of the entire Ummah as a result we would be successful in this world and hereafter. Ameen.
