New Delhi: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Syed Sadatullah Husaini has condemned the Israeli massacre of displaced Palestinians lodged in a camp in Rafah.

In the statement to the media, the JIH President said, “We condemn the inhuman Israeli massacre of displaced Palestinians lodged in a camp northwest of Rafah city in southern Gaza. As per media reports, the Israeli defense forces conducted a barbaric attack on the makeshift refugee tents that were marked as a designated safe zone with missiles and bombs killing many people and burning people alive. This attack on internally displaced civilians living in Rafah is one more example of the series of war crimes that Israel is conducting on the people of Gaza, Palestine.”

Syed Sadatullah averred, “It is clear from day one that Israel does not respect international law or international agreements like the Genocide Convention. It is a rogue state that believes in and practices settler colonialism, apartheid, and the wilful killing of innocent civilians including women and children. It is a monumental tragedy of our age that despite claiming to be the vanguard of justice, democracy, liberty, and freedom, the most powerful nations on the planet have been unable to stop the war and genocide carried out by Israel. We reiterate our strong demand to the UN and the international community to take swift and decisive action towards stopping this shameful mass slaughter, enforce a ceasefire, and ensure the earliest establishment of a free Palestinian state. We also reiterate our appeal to our government of India, to play the historical role as a friend of the Palestinian people and use its good offices to impress upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities. It is a matter of pride for India that Justice Dalveer Bhandari, the Indian representative at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) voted in favor of the ruling ordering Israel to immediately halt its military operations in Rafah.
