Patna, 16 June 2014: In the name of eminent writer, academician and former leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Dr. Ziaul Huda, the Bihar zone of Jamaat has set up a library at its newly constructed state head office in Patna. The library was inaugurated at a simple ceremony here last week in the presence of present and former leaders of the state Jamaat and other dignitaries.

In his opening remarks, Ahmed Ali Akhtar, Secretary, Department of Dawah, Jamaat-e-Islami Bihar said the old library of Jamaat which was defunct for a long time due to demolition and reconstruction of the state head office, has been restored and it has been rechristened as Dr. Ziaul Huda Library. He informed the audience that Dr. Ziaul Huda worked on different positions of Jamaat. He was a pleasing personality due to his high morals, organizational spirits and educational attachment. He had deep interest in the study of Quran and had inculcated this spirit in youths also.

He also said the library will have facility for at least 10-12 people to sit and study at one time. Books will also be issued to readers.

Dr Hasan Raza, former state president of Jamaat-e-Islami Jharkhand, expressed his happiness at witnessing the inaugural of the library. He said he learned lot from the deep knowledge and guidance of Dr. Ziaul Huda.

Bihar’s eminent academician and orator Dr. Abuzar Kamaluddin while highlighting the importance of libraries, teaching and learning said that only those nations are leading the world today who are ahead of others in the field of education. When Muslims were ahead in this field they were ruling the world. It is time Muslims moved up fast in the field of education and set up different types of educational institutions, libraries and research centres. The establishment of Dr. Ziaul Huda Library is a noble step in that direction.

At the end of the program, state president (Amir-e Halqa) of Jamaat, Nayyaruzzaman thanked the audience and guests and said he has noted down all their suggestions for development of the library and will work on them in a phased manner. It is a humble beginning. Our effort will be to collect not only religious books but also those on other branches of learning in Urdu and he would work to expand the study space also in the library, he said.

Shabbir Alam, Member, state advisory council of Jamaat, also spoke on the occasion.

Patna’s eminent surgeon Dr. A Q Siddiqi inaugurated the library by opening its door.
