JIH Appeals Gurjars To Adopt Peaceful Ways Of Protest

January 9, 2011

He requested the Gurjars to make their protest peaceful and more constitutional and make sure that the common people do not suffer and the national property is not destroyed.
He condemned the routine attitude of the governments due to which the people are forced to resort to protest. On the other hand, he said, when some people begin taking law in their hands and no action is taken against them, they become heedless and daring, therefore the government should think sympathetically about their demands and try to find out acceptable solution through dialogue and ensure that the common people are not troubled, similarly the law breakers must be dealt with accordingly so that people’s trust in law and order is reinstated.
He confirmed the Jamaat’s support for their demands but urged them to adopt peaceful and constitutional methods. He said that a delegation led by Jamaat’s state secretary Mr. Nazimuddeen has met the Gurjar leader a few days back and appealed the same and if necessary, Jamaat will take another delegation to convince the Gurjar leaders on adopting peaceful ways of protest.

A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s state unit led by state secretary Muhammad Nazimuddeen, met Gurjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsala and others at the site of his agitation camp at Peelupura. District co-organiser Absar Ahmad, Karauli District President Muhammad Feeroz, with members Qamruddeen Khan and Dr. Abdul Muqtadir Khan accompanied Mr. Nazimuddeen in the delegation.
The mission asserted during the meet that the Gurjars indeed are a backward cast and hence they deserve reservation. Not only Gurjars, but also every section of the society that is backward, deprived or weaker must get their due rights and the government should endeavor to provide equal opportunities to develop. The delegation stated that this is not fare on part of the governments to delay giving due rights to their citizens so much so that they have to resort to agitate and come to the roads, therefor the governments should make efforts to ensure every section of the society their due rights.
The convoy expressing their concern over the inconveniences faced by the public all over the country, demanded from the government not to politicise the whole matter and take effective steps in order to solve the problem so as no other section is harmed and no controversy arises among different sections of the society. On the other hand, the delegation requested the agitators not to take such steps that the common people do not face inconveniences and national property is not damaged.
Mr. Nazimuddeen, who headed the mission, said that a delegation of the Jamaat will soon meet the government to put forth its point of view in order to solve the problem.
