Jaipur, Rajasthan: A workshop held by the Sanganer unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan equipped women and students with valuable skills in exploring the world of social media. The event held recently focused on responsible and effective use of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
Journalism research scholar Ilma guided the participants through video editing tools, and story/report writing tailored for digital media. She emphasized the importance of seeking reliable news sources and offered practical tips for creating basic invitations, posters, and advertisements using the Canva app.
Ilma highlighted critical issues affecting women, including female feticide, safety concerns, domestic violence, and dowry practices. She encouraged participants to approach these topics with factual accuracy and sensitivity.
Ghazala Parveen, a member of the Women’s Wing of Jamaat e Islami Hind Sanganer, emphasized the workshop’s aim to empower women and girls to harness the creative potential of social media. She urged participants to be mindful of both the positive and negative aspects of these platforms and to use them with wisdom and responsibility.
Led by Syeda Farhana Farheen, the workshop provided a valuable platform for women and girls to develop their digital literacy skills and contribute positively to online communities.
