33 crore people getting affected by drought is a big concern Ameer-e Jamaat

New Delhi, April 21: Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has described as painful situation the central government’s information about the current massive drought. The government has recently informed the Supreme Court that 33 crore people in 226 districts of 10 states are affected by the drought.

Ameer-e Jamaat has demanded the central and state governments to provide water at war level in the affected areas and chalk out a better plan for the future. He has also appealed to people of the country to use minimum water for their needs, to preserve it and take it to the needy people. Ameer-e Jamaat expressed satisfaction that members of Jamaat-e-Islami Maharashtra are utilizing their resources to take water to the affected areas.

On this distressful situation, the Jamaat leader urged the central and state governments and leaders of the ruling parties to ponder if the shortcomings and mistakes in establishing justice and equality, eradicating atrocities and in protecting the rights of people have invited the ire of the Creator.

We should ponder if His anger is displaying in the form of dreadful earthquakes, floods, cyclones and acute drought. The Lord warns us that we should keep ourselves from our ungodly attitudes and obey Him in our whole life.

Maulana Umari also prayed to Allah to forgive our sins, lead us to His path and shower His blessings on us.
