Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President inaugurates 50-bed Covid field hospital in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi

The JIH president along with others inaugurating  the Covid field hospital in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi.

 

NEW DELHI, 13 May 2021: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) President Syed Sadatullah Husaini inaugurated the 50-bed Covid Field Hospital here on Wednesday.  The Covid Field Hospital at Jamia Nagar, New Delhi has been established in association with Aster Volunteers, the CSR arm of UAE-based Aster DM Healthcare, and Alshifa Multispeciality Hospital under the Human Welfare Trust. The hospital set up at Scholar School run by Human Welfare Foundation, having capacity of 50 beds along with oxygen cylinders and concentrators, nebulisation and separate wards for men and women.

Speaking on the occasion, the JIH President said, “in this difficult time, individuals and institutions are setting a great example by offering their services to the humanity. Al-Shifa Hospital is one of them. It has worked tirelessly in extremely difficult situations since last two or three weeks. We are happy that more young people are coming out to serve the humanity.”

 

President of the Human Welfare Trust Mr. T Arif Ali informed that the hospital would initially admit 25 asymptomatic patients. He said, “Later, it will be upgraded to 50 beds.  All services at this new facility, including treatment and meals, will be provided free to all patients. The Leela Palace Hotel, New Delhi is sponsoring cooked meals for all patients and staff three times a day. A 30-member medical team consisting of experienced doctors and paramedical staff is working for the smooth functioning of the Field Hospital. He further said, “if the situation demands, the field hospital will be developed by adding more beds and facilities.”

 

Apart from 100 oxygen cylinders and 10 oxygen concentrators, it will have male and female paramedical staff.
