Message from the President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari on the occasion of Eid

‘’Establishing peace and security in the country is the need of the hour’’

New Delhi: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari while extending Eid greetings to the Muslim community prayed to Allah for accepting the worship of the believers during the holy month of Ramadan and also to grant them the virtue to lead a life of piety and devotion throughout the year.

The JIH President said: ‘’the way we performed our worship in the holy month of Ramadan and the manner in which we were motivated to give alms and charity should continue in the future too. This month also imparts special training on unity within the community. In the future too, the Muslim community must keep unity within its ranks and must try to solve its problems through consensus and harmony’’.

Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari said that: ‘’ nowadays attempts are being made in the country to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere by spreading division, creating disturbance and instigating lawlessness. These are devastating for the nation. They must not be allowed to succeed. We must try to maintain the climate of love and harmony within our people. It is the responsibility of the Muslim community in its role as ‘’khair e ummat’’ (the best of nations) and also the duty of every responsible citizen as per law and our constitution’’.

Maulana expressed the hope that the Muslim community will pay heed to this responsibility and spread the message of love and peace throughout the country. Maulana said that: ‘’we must include our non-Muslim brothers and sisters too in celebrating Eid and make them aware about the message and significance of Eid and Ramadan. After Eid we should organize ‘’Eid Milan’’ programs.

The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind prayed for the establishment of peace and security in the country and also for the spread of virtue and righteousness in society.
