Jamaat expresses sorrow at crane accident in Makkah

New Delhi, 12 Sep 2015: Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has expressed deep sorrow at the killing of over 100 Haj pilgrims in a crane accident during expansion work at Masjid-e Haram (Grand Mosque) in Makkah. Over 200 other pilgrims were also wounded in the incident on Friday. Maulana Umari has expressed condolences with relatives of the deceased and sympathy with the injured. He prayed to Allah for granting the deceased the status of Shaheed and great rewards to the wounded persons.

Jamaat chief said that due to the ongoing expansion works at Masjid-e Haram, Hajis and pilgrims from across the world have got extraordinary facilities. He expressed hope that there will be an increase in those facilities after completion of the works. However, he expressed concern at the present incident. This warrants, he said, that more precautionary measures are adopted at the place of huge crowding to clear risk of any such incident. Maulana Umari expressed hope that Saudi Arabia, as per its Islamic traditions, will behave well with relatives of the deceased and the injured.
