Jamaat joins rally on 23rd Anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition

New Delhi: Nearly 25 organizations organized a joint demonstration on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition at Jantar Mantar on Sunday, 6thDecember 2015.The march began from Mandi House and culminated at Jantar Mantar, where representatives of these organizations voiced their opinion on the Babri Masjid demolition. Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind – Janab Nusrat Ali described 6th December as one of the blackest days in the history of India. He said that: ‘’the Babri Masjid is a symbol of the secular and plural character of Indian society and the destruction of its three domes was the destruction three pillars of our polity namely democracy, secularism and diversity. Our main demand is that the authorities must punish and bring to justice the culprits responsible for the demolition of the Babri Masjid as pointed out by the Lieberhan Commission Report’’.

Members of all communities, including Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians, besides Muslims took part in the demonstration in a show of unity and solidarity. The organizations who took part in the rally include Lok Raj Sangathan, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Sikh Forum, Communist Ghadar Party of India, Welfare Party of India, United Muslim Front, Social Democratic Party of India, INSAF, SIO, APCR, CPI (M-L)-New Proletarian, Naya Daur Party, Delhi Shramik Sangathan, National Christian Forum, Purogami Mahila Sangathan, Hind Naujawan Ekta Sabha, Mazdoor Ekta Committee, Rahtriya Ulema Council, Citizens for Democracy, Mission Bhartiyam, Nishant Natya Manch, All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, Indian National League, United Sikh Mission.
