New Delhi: Jamaat-E-Islami Hind has expressed grave concern over the communal violence in Haryana.

In a statement, JIH Vice President Prof. Salim Engineer has called the reported attack on places of worship, alarming, and demanded to bring it under control immediately. In Haryana, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad took out the procession, which led to the violence in Sohna and Nuh, claiming the lives of five people, including two home guards.

The JIH Vice President termed the violence instigated by rioters and anti-social elements and the open arms distribution carried out along with religious procession to provoke, instigate and perpetuate violence as predatory and suicidal. He pointed out that such incidents were carried out to stoke communal tensions and reap political benefits by sowing the seeds of polarization.

Prof. Salim demanded fair compensation to the families of Maulana Saad and others, who were killed during the violence. Maulana Saad was rendering his services as an imam at Gurugram’s Sector 57 mosque. He was murdered and the same mosque was set ablaze.

The JIH Vice President demanded immediate probe into the matter, and action against the police officials who failed to protect life and property of the citizens despite prier intelligence. He also unequivocally deplored the partisan arrest of random Muslim youth, instead of sincere attempts to nab the real perpetrators.
