Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President expresses condolences over the demise of Maulana Usman Mansoorpuri

 

New Delhi, 22 May 2021: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) President Syed Sadatullah Husaini has expressed deep grief over the demise of Islamic scholar Maulana Qari Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri, calling it a big loss for the Muslim Ummah.

 

In a condolence statement, remembering Maulana Mansoorpuri’s wide range of services for the people, the JIH President said, “as a president of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, he rendered invaluable services to the Muslim community and the country. As a brilliant teacher, he taught theology throughout his life, especially at the renowned Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband. There, he taught Hadith including the books Muwatta Imam Malik and Mishkat al-Masabih. Maulana Mansoorpuri also demonstrated his managerial and organizational skills as the vice-rector of Darul Uloom Deoband for about 11 years and as the acting rector of the seminary since last year.”

 

Mentioning his relationship with him, Mr. Husaini said that several meetings and sessions were held with Maulana Mansoorpuri on the important issues during the last two years. The JIH President said, “We released joint statements on various issues and also organised a few online meetings during the lockdown. During all these engagements with him, his personality’s qualities like simplicity, dignity, politeness, balance, compassion for Muslims and their issues and the spirit of jointly working together with all sections of the community emerged as the role model for all of us.”

 

Offering his sincere condolences to Maulana’s relatives, his learned pupils, followers, and the Muslim community, especially to the officials of Darul Uloom, Mr. Husaini prayed Almighty Allah to accept his services and shower His mercy upon him and fill the void created by his demise.
