Secretary General of JIH, Mohammad Salim Engineer was the Chief Guest of the Muslim women’s Colloquium International Conference on 25th February 2017 at JDT Islam Campus, Calicut in Kerala. In his speech, he lauded the efforts of GIO Kerala for organizing the conference and highlighted the need for it at a time when the ‘Islamophobia culture’ wave is increasing globally as well as nationally. He spoke about many burning current issues facing Muslim women in our country and how the sacred institutions of womanhood, family and marriage are under threat. He pointed out how, in the name of liberation and progress, the Islamic values and traditions are becoming endangered. Along with raising these issues he also offered constructive solutions which must be followed by the Muslim community in response to these issues.
