JIH Youth Wing urges Justice Hegde to continue as Karnataka Lok Ayukta

June 25, 2010

Mangalore June 25: Youth Wing of Jamaath-e-Islami Hind organised a rally extending its support to Justice N Santhosh Hegde to continue as Karnataka Lok Ayukta and fight the widespread corruption in Yeddyurappa’s BJP government. The government is in celebration mood with its ‘Sadhana Samavesha’ but by resigning, Justice Santhosh Hegde has slapped on the face of the corrupt government, said Muhammd Kunhi, JIH Youth Wing District Convener. The government is celebrating its ‘Sadana Samavesha’ using people’s money. But it has forgotten the reports submitted by the Lokayuktha against the government. The government is showing off but people know all about it. It had announced development of the state as its motto but they are protecting corrupt politicians, goondas and officials. Such people are being developed by the government in the name of development.  If this is to continue, the land will not prosper. A new system has to come, a new movement of people has to start which will show way for a better and just society, Kunhi said.
A K Kukkila, Editor, Sanmarga, said that while Shoba Karandlaje was being removed from the cabinet, Yeddyurappa cried and showed sympathy. But when an honest official like Hegde submitted his resignation, he hasn’t even asked him to stay. It is enough testimony for the fact that he is unfit to lead the state as a CM, he said. The government doesn’t tolerate anyone who criticizes them. Whether it is Dwarakanath of Backward Class Comission, S R Nayak of Human Rights commission or Lokayuktha Sanathosh Hegde, they are all neglected and troubled by the government, so that they do not continue their honest duties. Yeddyurappa must apologise with Justice Santhosh Hegde, Kukkila demanded. they demanded that the Government take honest action against those involved in illegal mining identified by Lokayuktha and against those ministers who wrote a letter to the CM demanding the suspension of the responsible official curbing illegal mining, besides, giving powers to Lokayuktha and fulfilling of its demands.
