Konkan flood relief and rehabilitation works: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra disburses over Rs. 30 lakh among 80 small traders to restart their businesses

Mumbai, 18 Sept. 2021: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Maharashtra and Ideal Relief Committee Trust (IRCT), which are carrying out relief and rehabilitation operations in the Konkan  flood hit areas since day one, have disbursed Rs. 30,54,000 to 80 small traders for restarting their businesses.

 

This humanitarian aid was distributed in a programme, organized for the economic development of the small and poor businessmen belonging to the most affected Chiplun town of the Ratnagiri district, after conducting a survey. Earlier, volunteers of the Ideal Relief Wing conducted a detailed survey.  

 

The programme was attended by IRCT’s secretary Mazhar Farooq, head of the JIH Konkan division Ashraf Haroon Esaf, and representatives of various Muslim organizations and social activists.

 

Cheques, cash, equipments, machinery etc were handed over to those engaged in various businesses like garments, footwear, groceries, stationery, general stores,  pharmacy, flour mill, welding, fabrication, mobile-phone, electronics and electric repairing, photocopy and computer and online service centres, tailors, hawkers etc. 

 

Volunteers of JIH Maharashtra and its sister organizations like IRCT, Medical Service Society, Youth Wing, and Students Islamic Organisation of India have been engaged in relief and rehabilitation works since floods ravaged parts of Konkan earlier this year.
