This humanitarian aid was distributed in a programme, organized for the economic development of the small and poor businessmen belonging to the most affected Chiplun town of the Ratnagiri district, after conducting a survey. Earlier, volunteers of the Ideal Relief Wing conducted a detailed survey.

The programme was attended by IRCT’s secretary Mazhar Farooq, head of the JIH Konkan division Ashraf Haroon Esaf, and representatives of various Muslim organizations and social activists.

Cheques, cash, equipments, machinery etc were handed over to those engaged in various businesses like garments, footwear, groceries, stationery, general stores,  pharmacy, flour mill, welding, fabrication, mobile-phone, electronics and electric repairing, photocopy and computer and online service centres, tailors, hawkers etc.

Volunteers of JIH Maharashtra and its sister organizations like IRCT, Medical Service Society, Youth Wing, and Students Islamic Organisation of India have been engaged in relief and rehabilitation works since floods ravaged parts of Konkan earlier this year.
