Man cannot learn the lessons of humanity without relating to his creator  Dr. Muhammad Rafat

 

 

 

01st May 2016- Ahmedabad – Lessons of humanity can only be practiced by human beings upon fulfilling  their relationships with the Creator, fellow humans, Universe and Self, said Dr.Muhammad Rafat, National Secretary Jamat-e-Islami Hind. He was speaking in a symposium organized by the Islam Darshan Kendra of JIH Gujarat at Ravidranath Tagore Hall – Paldi in Ahmedabad.

 

 
Eminent Economist and Social Activist Professor Rohit Shukla opined that the quest for economic growth of the modern man has put environment in a huge danger. He also said that lust of human beings need to be controlled by concerted efforts by one and all. Dalit Rights Activist Chandu Meharia cited a various examples on how the inhuman practices of marginalizing and oppressing the fellow human beings still continue in the society. He also called for reforms in various religions to uphold the human dignity. Urvish Kothari a leading Gujarati journalist urged the various religious communities to face the tough questions and respond to inhuman practices being carried out in the name of religions.

 

 
Swami Adhyatmanandji of Shivanand Ashram spoke on the spiritual essence while explaining the concept of humanity. Jain Acharya Mahabauddh Surishwarji spoke on upholding the institution of family by giving due respect to the parents and especially the mothers. Jayshree Ben of Brahmakumaris opined that it was important to bring about change in one’s self rather than searching change in others in order to achieve peace. The speakers were unanimous that such programmes and initiatives need to be taken on a regular basis to bridge the gaps between different communities and ideologies.
