New Delhi, April 05: The mid-term session of Majlis-e Numaindagan (House of Representatives) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind began on Thursday (April 04) with keynote speech of Ameer-e Jamaat (National President) Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari here at the headquarters of the Jamaat. The four-day session will conclude on April 07.
The session convened by Secretary General of the Jamaat Nusrat Ali began with the tazkeer of Maulana Mohammad Yousuf Islahi. Then Ameer-e Jamaat Maulana Jalaluddin Umari delivered keynote speech wherein he outlined the areas of discussion for the four-day session.
Some 148 elected representatives from across the country including 19 women are attending the session. The Numanindagan (representatives) are elected for four years and the internal assessment session is held every two years.
During the four-day session, progress report of two years would be deliberated upon and corrective measures would be taken following the discussion to achieve the targets of the term in next two years.
Besides internal assessment, the house will also discuss overall current situation of the country and national and international issues. The house will also discuss the political situation in view of the forthcoming elections in the state and General Elections 2014.At the end of the session on April 07, resolutions would be passed on important national and international issues.
Next session of Majlis-e Numaindagan will be held in April 2015.
