Ameer-e-Jamaat inaugurates 3 day Training and Organizational Program for State Secretaries of Department of Islamic Society (Shoba Islami Mashera)21 February – Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari inaugurated a 3 day Training and Organizational Program for State Secretaries of Department of Islamic Society (Shoba Islami Mashera) at the Jamaat Headquarters in New Delhi today.

Ameer e Jamaat said that: ‘’just as one strives for and is concerned for one’s family, in the same way one should worry about one’s larger family which is the community or Ummah to who he / she belongs. Till date whatever cadre and resources we have acquired are mostly from this Ummah. God forbid if we are cut off from this (Muslim) community then we will not have any significance. It is the religious responsibility of the members of Jamaat to work for this community. Moosa (peace be upon him) went to Firaun and said that he must stop his atrocities on the Bani Israel and allow them to go with him. That is why if we work for welfare of the Ummah and protect it from the atrocities of the zalimun (oppressors) then we are discharging a prophetic mission and a religious responsibility.

Maulana said that Quran has used word tazkiya for reformation, purification and improvement in lots of things like worship, society even politics. Prophets of God come in this world to do tazkiya. Quran says that it is part of Allah’s benevolence that he sent a Prophet (pbuh) who is a person from their own community and is working for the tazkiya of the people. Thus those who work for reform must first prove that they are not outsiders but from within their own community. The work of tazkiya to be done in the Ummah is huge and requires lots of preparation. The muzakki (one who does tazkiya (reform)) should be well acquainted with Shariah (way of life according to Islam) and must understand and be able to explain its intricacies. Then the muzakki  should himself be a role model and living example for others to follow’’.

Earlier Markazi Secretary for Islamic Society Maulana Rafique Qasmi said that: ‘’Jamaat accords great importance towards the reformation of the Muslim society. This can also become a channel for people to be introduced to Jamaat’’. Maulana Qasmi said that Muslims must become role models for society.
