New Delhi, October 4: Nusrat Ali, General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has demanded the central government to ensure full implementation of the advisory sent by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to chief ministers regarding arrest of innocent Muslim youths. This will help hundreds of innocent Muslim youths arrested in false terror cases in last 15-20 years to get justice and atrocities committed on them could be remedied to some extent.

In a media statement, Jamaat General Secretary said that for last several years, several social and human rights groups as well as Muslim organizations have been demanding Home Minister and Prime Minister to stop arrest of innocent Muslims in the name of terrorism and release the innocents, but the government did not heed to the demand. Consequently many such innocents died in jails, their families waited for justice suffering with mental trauma and they are still facing several problems.

Though the Home Minister has given his attention to the issue very late, yet the government should prove with actions that it is serious to end violation of human rights and to ensure justice to the oppressed, he demanded.

He made the following demands to the central government:

* Special Courts should be set up without any delay for trial of the arrested youths

* The undertrials should be provided with government lawyers

* Action should be taken against the police officers who falsely implicated the innocent youths

*The government should offer apology to the acquitted youths and award them adequate compensation

*Implementation of the Home Ministry directions should be monitored and monthly progress report should be presented
