Bhopal, 21st Feb. 2021: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Madhya Pradesh President Dr. Hamid Baig has asserted that the responsibility for betterment of society lies on every citizen of the country and Muslims should be in the forefront to carry out this duty.
Delivering his presidential address at the launching programme of the nationwide campaign ‘Strong Family, Strong Society’, organised by the Women’s Wing of JIH here on Friday, MP, Dr. Hamid Baig said, “focusing on it, all citizens should support Jamaat’s campaign to carry its message to each household and make it a grand success.
Ms. Anita, Founder of Damini NGO working for the empowerment of women, addressing the programme, called upon women folk to realise their responsibility of building a strong family and thereby a strong society. “A woman’s role in her home where she looks after the needs of every household is more important than the duty of a District Collector,” she added.
Ms Aruna, member of Akhil Bharatiya Janseva Mahila Sangathan, expressing her views on the occasion, said that for laying the foundation of a strong family it was very necessary that there should be mutual love and respect amongst the family members. Ms Aruna said “women should realise their strength as they are in no way inferior to men. They should perform their duties with utmost dedication. Both men and women are at par with each other. It is only the division of labour which the Creator has assigned us.”
The programme started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Mrs. Zakirah.
Ms. Rafiya Sultan, state convenor of the nationwide campaign, highlighted the need of this campaign in the wake of an increase in the number of domestic violence incidents during the lockdown period, which forced the nation to understand and accept the fact that how fragile our family system has become.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Asifah Yaseen, said, “Western culture is being followed in the households while the fact is that the situation of women in the West itself is very painful.”
Another speaker Mrs. Mumtaz shed light on various ways to create awareness and improve the situation of the society.
