New Delhi: Mr Syed Sadatullah Husaini has been reelected Ameer (President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. The 162-member Markazi Majlis-e Numanidgan, (Council of Representatives) of which 36 were women assembled at the Jamaat headquarters from 26 April to 30th April 2023. The Council of Representatives discussed and reelected him for a four-year term from April 2023 till March 2027.
Mr Husaini was earlier elected the new President of JIH in April 2019, succeeding Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, who headed the organisation for 12 years.
Earlier, Mr Husaini also served the organization as its Vice President and a member of the JIH Central Advisory Council. He has been the National President of JIH’s student wing Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India for two consecutive terms. He has headed several forums and bodies. He is also on the boards of many social and academic organizations in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi and Aligarh.
Born on 7th June 1973 in the Mahboobnagar district of Telangana, Mr Husaini graduated in electronics and telecommunication engineering from Nanded, Maharashtra. He is the Chief Editor of Urdu monthly magazine, Zindagi e Nau. Being a regular columnist, he is writing on burning as well as Islamic issues. He has authored about 22 books so far and has written more than 400 articles in Urdu and English languages.
The topics covered in his books and articles include the application of Islam in contemporary times, Islamic activism, Muslim and minority issues, policymaking, and topics related to philosophy, economics, gender, etc.
