Imam of Masjid-e Nabawi visits JIH headquarters; leads Isha prayer

New Delhi, 04 March 2014: Dr. Abdul Mohsin Al-Qasim, the Imam of Masjid-e Nabawi, visited the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind here on Monday evening and met top leaders of the Jamaat. The visiting guest and JIH leaders exchanged greetings in the courtesy meeting.

Leading the JIH team, Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Amir (National President) of Jamaat welcomed the Imam and thanked him for visiting the JIH headquarters. “We have deep respect for the Imams of the two holiest places of Islam (Ka’ba and Masjid-e Nabawi). We always expect full guidance from you,” said Maulana Umari. Among other leaders of Jamaat who were present in the meeting included Secretary General Nusrat Ali, and several secretaries including Maulana Rafiq Qasmi, Mohammad Ahmed, Iqbal Mulla, Shafi Madani.

Dr. Abdul Mohsin Al-Qasim, the Imam of Masjid-e Nabawi, expressed his happiness over meeting with JIH leaders and hoped we would meet in the Jannat also.

“The way we are meeting here in this world, we should pray we meet in the Jannat (Paradise) also. Our hearts are very close to each other though we live in different parts of the world. The Quran and Sunnat should be the guiding force for all of us,” said the Imam.

After the meeting, the Imam gave a brief speech at the Masjid Ishaat-e Islam located in the campus of Jamaat headquarters and later he also led the Isha Prayer. Thousands of people had gathered from different areas of the city to listen to the Imam and offer prayer behind him.

In his 5-min pre-prayer speech, the Imam of Masjid-e Nabawi stressed unity among the Muslim community.

“Only Islam can unite us. The Humanity wants to be Muslim. Islam is a gift given by Allah to some. Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) uncle Abu Talib immensely supported his nephew but he himself could not become Muslim,” said the Imam.

“We should learn Islam, practise it and spread it,” he added.
