Service to humanity a big medium for introduction of Islam Amir-e Jamaat

New Delhi, 07 March 2014: Service is a natural passion which carries much weight in Islam. Service to humanity is a big medium for introduction of Islam. It distinguishes human being from other creatures. Only financial aid should not be meant by service. Rather, sharing all kinds of pain and trouble of humanity is also a key part of service to humanity. To resolve other’s problems considering them as our own is the main responsibility of human service. These words were expressed by Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari, Amir (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. He was giving keynote speech at the two-day workshop organized by Social Service Department of Jamaat.

The two-day review workshop was organized from March 1-2 here at the Jamaat headquarters. Zonal secretaries of Social Service Departments presented their progress report of last three years of this term. Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind offered his valuable comments and delivered presidential speech.

He appreciated some efforts of zones but also expressed concern over non-achievement of some of the targets. He also said that the Tahreek-e Islami in India has two works to do – one is service to humanity and other is propagation of Deen.

In the field of social service, the Muslim Ummat has deep faith in Tahreek-e Islami. To strengthen this faith, we should take our work ahead.

The workshop began with commentary on some verses of Holy Quran by Dr. Waqar Anwar in the morning on 01 March. Mr. Shafi Madani, National Secretary, Social Service Department delivered inaugural speech wherein he highlighted the purposes of the workshop and he also explained the strategy and plan of the department for the remaining one year of the 4-yr term.

Central leaders including Mohammad Salim Engineer, Mohammad Ahmed and Rafique Ahmed addressed the workshop on different topics like how to increase passion among people for social work, how to help the oppressed people, how to get benefit from schemes of state and central governments.

All zones of the Jamaat attended the workshop. The concluding speech was given by Nusrat Ali, Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.

Islam says service to the humanity is indeed service to our own self. ” The Unity of Allah and the Unity of the mankind ” is the basic concept of Islamic faith.
