New Delhi, Feb 21: Mohammad Salim Engineer, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, while expressing deep concern at the disturbing situation created during the ongoing Jat reservation movement in Haryana, has demanded the government to take necessary steps to bring the situation to normalcy. He has also appealed to the Jat community to keep their movement from going into negative direction by creating problems for people in the state.
While criticising the Manohar Lal Khattar government of Haryana, the Secretary General of Jamaat said that it has failed in understanding the recurrence of the movement for Jat reservation and in maintaining peace and justice in the state. Due to its failure, he said, the common people of the state are facing extraordinary hardship, their lives and properties are in danger and they are suffering various losses. Urgent efforts should be made to restore peaceful situation in the state.
Mohammad Salim Engineer also appealed to the Jat brethren of Haryana that even if they think movement is must to get their rights, they must ensure that the state remains free from violence and unrest and they should try to resolve their issues through dialogues with the government in peaceful atmosphere.
