JIH high-level delegation takes stock of relief work in Assam

A high-level delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind led by Secretary General Nusrat Ali visited the violence-hit areas of Assam to take stock of the ongoing relief and rehabilitation work in this North-East State.

On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind NE Zone (North) organised an Intellectual Meet at Islamic Centre, Sijubari, Guwahati, Assam at 8.30 pm on 12th September 2012. In his Inaugural Speech, JIH Assistant Secretary General Mohammed Shafi Madni highlighted the Relief Activities of Jamaat in BTAD Area while Advocate M.U.Mahmood and Advocate Nozrul Islam Mazarbhuiya presented the current situation prevailing in the State and its solutions. Jamaat Secretary General Nusrat Ali delivered the concluding speech in the Intellectual Meet.

On 13th September a 6-member team of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind headed by Secretary General rushed to the affected areas to visit the affected people and distribute relief materials in three different camps at Hatidhura College, Tamarhat.

On 14th September this high-level delegation of the Jamaat visited the affected village at Binnachara area of Kokrajhar District and participated in the Foundation Laying Ceremony of a Housing Project at Binnachara.  Then the Jamaat team visited the Relief Camps of Chirrang District and distributed utensils and tarpolin.

This team comprised Nusrat Ali, Secretary General; Maulana Rafeeq Ahmed Qasmi, Assistant Secretary General; Mohammed Shafi Madni, Assistant Secretary General; Kefayatullah, President Assam State Jamaat; Abdul Hamid, Jamaat Unit President; Md. Shams Ahmed, Convenor  Welfare Party of India, Assam Chapter; and Haris Ali.

    Nice to see central leadership taking active part in Assam relief work, it will boost the morale of victims as the whole Muslim Ummah is with them at the hour of misery, at the same time inspire the local relief workers.

    Zajakallah Khair. In my recent visit to the devastated areas, I received many feedback from localities and victims and they expressed their satisfaction with the quality of services. JEIH’s Lower Assam riot relief work is highly appreciable. We expect more professional services from the organization.
