JIH leaders participate in International Al-Quds Day event in Delhi

New Delhi, 26 July 2014: Hundreds of people gathered at Jantar Mantar near Indian Parliament here on Friday to mark the International Al-Quds Day in solidarity with Palestinians and struggle to free Masjid Al-Aqsa from the control of Israel. The event was addressed among others by top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind including Secretary General Nusrat Ali and Secretary Mohammad Ahmed.

The event organized by National Council of Shia Ulama condemned the Israeli military offensive in Gaza which has killed more than 800 Palestinians and wounded thousands others since July 8.

The organizers sent a memorandum to Prime Minister of India and Secretary General of United Nations to pressurize Israel to obey international laws and vacate the Al-Aqsa mosque.

Other eminent leaders who spoke on the occasion included Dr. SQR Ilyas, General Secretary of Welfare Party of India, Members of Parliament Ali Anwar and Mohammad Adeeb, Communist Party of India’s national secretary Atul Kumar Anjan and Shia clerics Mohsin Taqwi and Jalal Haider Naqvi.
